District Scout Activities

The Forest of Dean District organises several activities each year for Explorer Scouts, Scouts, Cubs and Beavers of all Groups to join in.

There is a range of activities specifically aimed at each age group.

One of the most popular is the Water Activity Day held at Mallards Pike.

Everything is supervised and skills specialists provide their expertise as instructors.

There are activities organised by Gloucestershire County each year for Explorer Scouts, Scouts, Cubs and Beavers of all Groups to try, Sub-aqua aquaint is one.

The District also organises activities for St George's Day each year. In 2009, we met at Beechenhurst.

The Backwoods Challenge is an opportunity for Scouts and Explorers to put their skills into practice, building shelters, camping overnight and cookingtwo meals on open fires.
